Welcome to Frosted Birch Photography!
Frosted Birch Photography is a venture started by Ronnie Sherard in 2022. Ronnie is a United States Air Force veteran, having served nearly 24 years in service to his country. He began to dabble in photography in 1999 when he purchased a Hewlett-Packard (HP) PhotoSmart 315 digital camera. After a 3-year stint in Japan, Ronnie bought a Canon EOS 300D “Digital Rebel” camera, his first foray into the DSLR world.
Ronnie fell in love with three photography subjects: landscapes, aircraft, and animals. He used his Rebel to capture thousands of images before taking a break from photography in 2011. Life in the military was becoming more hectic and outside activities, such as working with the Boy Scouts of America, kept him occupied. However, his love was reignited after the military moved him and his family to Alaska in 2020.
Fascinated by the northern lights, Ronnie purchased and utilized three GoPro cameras to create moving images of the Alaskan night sky so he could cherish the memories. Seeing the incredible photos his fellow northern lights enthusiasts were taking, he decided it was time to look at digital photography again. Ronnie picked up the Sony Alpha a6400 and began to capture the beauty and life around him. The end result of his efforts is Frosted Birch Photography!
